Invigorate Recruitment are currently looking to recruit a Material Planner to work within the logistics department of a leading global supplier.

The role carries out a crucial role within the organisation ensuring the factory is supplied with the appropriate materials to service a JIT environment. As a Material Planner you will have a demonstrable track record within production and/or material planning and scheduling, have strong IT skills coupled with a thorough understanding of MRP planning operations. Duties will include:

• Efficient scheduling and expediting of material in short and long term through use of in house MRP system.
• Ensure on time delivery to maintain planned production flow and meet customer delivery requirements.
• Support achievement of business goals for efficient inventory management.
• Reporting of supplier OTIF information and support for improvements in supplier delivery performance in cross functional improvement activities,
• Creation and completion of corrective actions and contribute to improvement functionality of in house MRP in pursuit of business targets.
• Engage and communicate with key contacts and stakeholders including external suppliers, and on site purchasing, quality, engineering and management teams.

Key to the role will be to maintain sound co-operative relationships with other departments and key suppliers. Resilience and an ability to liaise with staff at all levels is essential, as is the drive to deliver a first class service. You will need to be a strong character that is able to challenge discrepancy and progress chase successfully as well being able to manage day to day challenges.

This position would ideally suit an established professional with 3-5 years experience in material and/or production planning within working knowledge of MRP principles and exposure to a manufacturing environment.

Salary £20k to £25k pa , depending on experience plus excellent benefits package.

Hours of work : 8am – 5pm Mon – Thur, 8am – 1.30pm Fri .
