Invigorate Recruitment is looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant to work for a well established organisation based in Bradford.
The role of Accounts Assistant is to assist in all areas of basic day to day accounting processes including both sales and purchase ledgers. To record, process and allocate all cash receipts. To administer effective credit control by way of telephone, fax, email or letter and minimise overdue and bad debts. To process new account applications in accordance with the Company’s credit control policy. To process all returns. To provide general administrative assistance as and when required.

Duties:
• Record, post and allocate all cash receipts promptly and accurately.
• Monitor and chase overdue debts in line with the company credit control policy.
• Process new account applications and carry out credit checks on new and existing customers as required.
• Provide weekly debtor reports for review with Assistant Accountant / FD.
• Provide sales managers with weekly debtor report for relevant customers.
• Record and process sales orders having regard to account status and credit limit.
• Review held orders and process /cancel as deemed necessary.
• Assist when necessary in invoicing retail orders and staff sales
• Responsible for the daily import of EDI orders from MELTS to Sage and subsequent printing and posting of sales invoices.
• Record and enter purchase invoices on Sage
• Administer the petty cash and perform weekly reconciliations to both book and ledger.
• Reconcile MELTS returns data to customer debit notes and raise corresponding credit on Sage Line 100.
• Query all discrepancies and resolve in a timely manner.
• Process and reconcile all stock invoices once goods have been booked in by the merchandisers.

Skills Required:
• Must have experience of basic accounting duties covering sales and purchase ledgers and cash books. Knowledge of nominal ledger would be desirable but not essential. Knowledge of Payroll would be desirable but not essential.
• Accuracy and attention to detail is paramount.
• Must be adept in the use of Sage Line 100 or similar accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Self-motivated with a mature approach to work. A good team player prepared to get involved in all areas of the business as required.
• Must hold full UK driving licence
Hours of Work- Monday- Thursday 9am -5pm, Friday 9am- 2pm.
Salary- Upto £16k pa
